Q. What is Decorative Concrete Resurfacing?

A. Concrete Surface is basically a colored concrete resurfacing material made of Portland Cement, silica sand with epoxy and acrylic bonding agents.

Q. What is involved in installation?

A. It is a textured surface. The base coat, if necessary on old concrete, is sprayed in a smooth coat over the concrete. Smaller cracks are filled with a substance made from urethane. Larger cracks are filled with epoxy, welding the separated pieces of concrete together. After that is dry, a texture coat is sprayed out of a hand hopper with material covering 70-80% of the base coat in small drops. These drops are then troweled smooth and are comfortable to walk on. A colored finish is then applied.

Q. What colors are available for concrete resurfacing?

A. Choose from a variety of colors to choose from though we generally apply it in earth tones that are most pleasing to the entire landscaping area.

Q. What is the life expectancy of a Concrete Resurfacing application?

A. It has the life expectancy of concrete. The materials used in Concrete Resrurfacing are actually harder than concrete in PSI strength.

Q. How long does it take to complete a concrete resurfacing job?

A. From 1 to 4 days depending on whether it is new or old concrete, size of the job, etc. The base coat is allowed to dry for 24-48 hours. Then we apply the texture coat which dries in approximately 3 hours. Usually the following day we then apply the finish coat which dries in approximately 2 hours.

Q. Is it cooler than regular concrete?

A. Concrete Resurfacing is cooler than regular concrete. Depending on the finish coat we apply for the application the temperature will vary.

Q. Will pool water stain Concrete resurfacing or will it fade?

A. No.
